2027 Haval H7: the hybrid and PHEV SUV on Jamaica’s watchlist

A new-model preview with separate powertrains, overseas specifications and price coming soon.

The 2027 Haval H7 is on our Jamaica watchlist. Its appeal is the choice of electrified powertrains in a square-bodied SUV. This preview uses overseas announcements; Jamaican pricing, exact configurations and a firm delivery date still await a public local specification or dealer quotation.

A different H7: identify the generation first

CarExpert’s August 21 report describes the Menglong/Raptor-based replacement for Australia’s older Big Dog-based H7. Five seats come first before the end of 2026; the longer seven-seater is planned for Australia in 2027. Those dates do not establish Jamaica’s delivery schedule.

HEV and PHEV: keep the specifications separate

CarExpert reports these Australian certification figures. They are preview data, not a Jamaican specification sheet.

Dimensions and details still to resolve

The reported standard body is 4,680 mm long, 1,950 mm wide and 1,843 mm high, with a 2,738 mm wheelbase; length reaches 4,800 mm including the spare carrier. CarExpert flags conflicting transmission descriptions and no Australian battery specification. We therefore leave gearbox ratios, battery capacity and Jamaican electric range unconfirmed.

Why a different market can give you different numbers

GWM Malaysia’s June 11 preview describes an H7 Hi4 PHEV with 370 PS, 750 Nm and up to 150 km electric range on the CLTC test. Those belong to that Malaysian preview. They must not be combined with the Australian 320 kW entry above or presented as Jamaican figures. CLTC range is a laboratory result, not a promise for your daily route.

Which powertrain fits a Jamaican household?

A non-plug-in hybrid and a PHEV need different buying questions. For the PHEV, find out whether you can charge where you park, what connector the local car uses, and what installation and electricity will cost. Ask for consumption with the battery depleted as well as electric range. For the HEV, focus on the locally supplied engine and hybrid system, the service schedule and the fuel consumption relevant to your driving. A larger headline power figure alone does not settle which version suits you.

What we are waiting for from Jamaica

The local GWM pages checked for this preview did not establish an H7 price, HEV/PHEV trim list or handover date. Before reserving one, obtain a written quote naming the model year, powertrain, seating, drivetrain and warranty. Confirm battery coverage and charging support for a PHEV. Seven-seat availability needs its own confirmation; it should not be assumed from photographs or an overseas launch plan. We will keep the local price as coming soon until it is supported.

The bottom line

Keep the new H7 on the shortlist, but compare the exact Jamaican configuration when it is published. We have deliberately kept the older H7 catalogue specifications out of this preview. Photographs illustrate the Chinese Menglong/Raptor family rather than a confirmed Jamaican vehicle.
