Buying brand new in Jamaica means buying from a franchised dealer, and the franchise map has been moving fast, with Chinese brands multiplying and Renault arriving in 2026. Here's who officially sells what, so you know exactly whose showroom to walk into (and who backs the warranty).

ATL Automotive: the twelve-brand giant

Per the Gleaner (October 2025), ATL represents 12 brands: Honda, Kia, Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Porsche, and a fast-growing Chinese stable that includes BYD, MG, Foton, Omoda and Jaecoo. If you're cross-shopping a BYD Seal against a Jaecoo J7, you're comparing cars from the same dealer group.

Stewart's Automotive Group

Stewart's holds Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, Land Rover and GWM/Haval, spanning the budget Swift to the flagship S-Class, plus the Haval H6 and Jolion SUVs on the Chinese side.

Kingston Industrial Garage (KIG)

KIG carries Ford, Subaru, Jeep and JAC: the classic American-and-Subaru house, now with a Chinese commercial line.

Tyre Warehouse: the new-energy upstart

Tyre Warehouse has built a Chinese-brand portfolio: Jetour SUVs plus Riddara (electric pickups), Rely and Vanche commercial vehicles.

Changan Jamaica

Changan Jamaica sells Changan's line (Alsvin, CS35 Plus, CS75 Pro, Hunter pickup) and the Deepal electric brand.

CAR Jamaica: Renault (new for 2026)

The island's newest franchise: CAR Jamaica launched Renault in April 2026 from Lady Musgrave Road with the Kwid, Triber and Kiger and a five-year warranty.

Progressive Motors: Peugeot's long-time home

Peugeot isn't a new arrival. Progressive Motors Limited on Half Way Tree Road has represented Peugeot (and SsangYong) in Jamaica for years. If you're after a 2008 or 3008 new, that's the address.

The bottom line

The dealer matters as much as the badge: warranty service, parts stock and trade-in support all run through the franchise. When comparing cars, note when two brands share a dealer group, because service capacity is shared too. And for any recently arrived brand, ask the parts-availability question directly: 'if my AC compressor fails, how long for the part?'
